Things I'm Loving...

Things I'm Loving...

I wholeheartedly believe that no matter what is happening in your life, there is always something that you can be thankful for... no matter how simple it is.

1) Our country
In the wake of the Christchurch Earthquake our country has come together in ways I could never have imagined! I am so proud to be a kiwi, but so heart-sick at what has happened. I wish there was more we could do...

2) Bob Parker

The Mayor of Christchurch - he is doing a magnificent job.

3) John Key

Our Prime Minister who has stood up to be counted, he has accepted help from  all countries who have offered help, he has been down in Christchurch and been hands-on - helping in whatever ways he can. He has gone back to Parliament and changed laws and whatever needs to be changed in order to get things done quicker and sooner.

4) My family

Even more grateful for these two amazing people in my life...

5) A little girl who learns quickly

Despite what this might do to my heart, I am proud of my wee girl who will give anything a go, and keep persisting until she has succeeded... within half an hour yesterday, she had climbing the stairs conquered!

6) The Ability to Baby-Proof my House

Even if it is in a rather 'creative' way until we get around to sorting safety gates out! Hey - it works, and it saves the old heart ;-)!

7) Good health, good friends and good food

Last week Button had a cold, but this week she is only teething ;-)! Our neighbours have been dealing with a tummy bug, but praise God - we managed to avoid this one.

My brother and sister-in-law are able to make it for Button's 1st birthday and dedication - yay, and due to good friends we have the ability to put them up for the weekend!

I am so thankful for electricity / water / food - just the basic ability to live my life... no need to boil drinking water, worry about food or food storage. No need to worry about anything really - Christchurch puts my life into perspective.

8) Prayers

Loving that I can take Christchurch to the Lord, all my fears and guilt and everything else I (we) feel as a NZer at the loss and destruction from this earthquake.
