The Real Reason...

Image
I am on the quiet side:

Currently 8 weeks along, baby due 13th April 2012...
Doing well - but the extreme fatigue is doing my head in; got to be better than nausea though!

Ice Maiden - Poem

Image
I think this one is fairly self-explanatory also... I noticed that while I was struggling through some of the rougher times I tended to keep people arm-length, even those I loved the most. I still tend to do that, and have a habit of standing with my arms crossed - even now, especially when I am uncomfortable (or meeting new people). Something to work on ;-)!
ICE MAIDEN
Here she comes again, To posses me from all angles. Those cold blue eyes, That feel like they stare, Straight through to your soul. Those mocking eyes, At your pretences, Do they make you uncomfortable?
The once laughing lips, Are now pursed and laugh-less. They sneer at you, And yet it’s not your fault. They speak of all the memories, But not of the fun, harmless times, Instead it’s of all the times, You would much rather forget.
That quick tongue. Straight off the mark, And right into your heart. Sarcasm, it’s meant to be, The lowest form of wit, And yet I live by it.

Silent Sunday - beach visit

Button's first visit to the beach... she LOVED it!!!!!!!!!!

Loads to LOVE this week!

I wholeheartedly believe that no matter what is happening in your life, there is always something that you can be thankful for... no matter how simple it is.

1) A lovely family walk down at the Botanical Gardens on a gorgeous Sunday morning (so should have been at church, but...):

Not only did I have cute subjects to take pictures of, but there was also some lovely scenery with spring slowly blossoming!

2) We had some visitors this week also, both of whom Button seemed to enjoy having around (or at least she managed to coerce both of them to read to her, which is ALWAYS a hit in her eyes):
Button with Aunty Sarah & Nana Hilda...
3) Our wee red-head! Button has red highlights in her hair, was born this way and so far they have managed to stay... but I suspect this summer they will probably end up bleaching out to blonde! So I thought I would try and take some photos of it, as most photos don't capture her in the right light; and she …

1) MY NEW BLOG... did you notice? Thanks to Simone at  greatfun4kids... such an exciting competition to have won, LOVE, LOVE, LOVE! I even have a new signature, which I didn't realise until I popped in to do this post - wahoo, thanks Simone (it ALL looks great) :-)!!!!!!!!
2) SNOW in Auckland:

I know, I know, I know the above photos are actually of hail... BUT it did snow, and there are many photos around the blogisphere to prove it! I was driving when it snowed, and had a sleeping child and no camera - so couldn't catch the actual event on camera. This was the closest I came to it - but it does show you how heavy the hail was!
3) LOVING the beautiful (albeit crisp) days that have followed that horrible storm... the past two days have been magnificent, and it is set to cont…

Lost That Loving Feelin'

I have been on the quiet side here for the past week or more... kinda lost my blogging mojo a bit :-(!
I am exhausted - one busy toddler who hardly stops and hardly sleeps, and who has been teething for the past two months will do that to you! Life has got much busier, and I have not had the time, motivation, or... well anything really, to spend time writing and posting here.
I am sure once this bout of teething is over, and Button starts sleeping more again... and I get into a decent rhythm with Playcentre, Coffee n Kids and the TNT Trust Meetings - I'll feel the urge again; but until then it will remain fairly quiet.
I will still do my 'Weekly Loving' entries (think they're SO important), and my poems - but that will probably be it!
However - do pop back once in a while, as my blog is going to get a REVAMP, thanks to the lovely Simone at Greatfun4kids... YAY, so excited to have won that competition! I tried so hard to get this new blog looking good before I 'opened&#…

Let Me Remind You - Poem

Totally self-explanatory!
Let Me Remind You
I was told it was because he loved me, I didn’t feel loved.
I was told it was because I was special, I didn’t feel special.
I was told it was “our little secret”, I’d never had a secret like this before.
I didn’t feel strong enough to carry that burden. I was only young, my shoulders small, I couldn’t even begin to comprehend. So instead I built a big, strong wall.
Inside this wall I had hidden me, From the prying eyes of the world outside. And as I got older, the wall got stronger, Until “CRASH” and the turning of the tide.
The hate, the anger, and all that pain, That I had stored behind those laughing eyes, Came gushing out, I could not stop it. Those cleansing tears, For all those years, Lost behind that wall.
“Oh God, why bring it up now?” I cried, as the memories flooded in. “I don’t think I can cope with this again, “Am I ever going to win?”
“My Child,” He whispered softly, “I’ll help you,

1) Loving that Kristy ALWAYS manages to go through every single blog that links up with her, and finds something to comment on! I always look forward to seeing what she says...(I also love going through them all, I just don't always get a chance to comment, as time is at a premium over the weekends)!

2) New washing machines - our one just up and died on us two weeks ago... we had a look around and found that we'd probably need to invest about $1200 minimum to get a decent washing machine. Then last Saturday we checked out Harvey Norman, and found the exact machine I wanted for a low $790... I was STOKED, as was hubby! Check out this baby:

3) Loving that my man gets off work at 3pm today, and we get to meet him at the shops for a 'family date'! Be still my beating hear…
