Things I'm Loving...

Things I'm Loving... I wholeheartedly believe that no matter what is happening in your life, there is always something that you can be thankful for... no matter how simple it is.   Linking up with:  Paisleyjade 1) Our country In the wake of the  Christchurch Earthquake   our country has come together in ways I could never have imagined! I am so proud to be a kiwi, but so heart-sick at what has happened. I wish there was more we could do... 2) Bob Parker Image found  here The Mayor of Christchurch - he is doing a magnificent job. 3) John Key Image found  here Our Prime Minister who has stood up to be counted, he has accepted help from  all countries who have offered help, he has been down in Christchurch and been hands-on - helping in whatever ways he can. He has gone back to Parliament and changed laws and whatever needs to be changed in order to get things done quicker and sooner. 4) My family Even more grateful for these two amazing people in my life... 5) A little

Poem - Beautiful Baby

22nd February 2011 I used to write a lot of poetry - not all the time, but regularly enough that I would get 'inspired' and have to write whatever it was, down then and there... thus I used to keep pen and paper by my bed, as most of my inspiration came at night. Can't do that now, and as time has gone on the inspiration has slowly dried up except for the odd occasion, or when asked to write something quite specific. Anyway - Mr. C has been on my back a bit about getting back into my writing; he really believes that one day I'll write a novel (although not the way I am going), he truly believes I am gifted enough to do that - personally, I have my doubts! However, I sat down tonight and penned my first poem in eons... literally! Please don't judge me on this - it is full of clich├ęs, and definitely not up to my usual standards, by any stretch of the imagination; BUT it's a start and will hopefully get my creative juices flowing enough to pen something decent

Prayers going out for Christchurch

Praying for Christchurch as they face their second earthquake in under 6 months - horrific news, much worse than the previous one. Please pray for them...

Things I have learnt recently...

Tuesday 22nd February 2011 1) There is a reason why some wipes are cheaper than Huggies - they're small, thin and are not damp at all... so it's back to Huggies we go next time! 2) My daughter likes routine, it means she knows what to expect... so Mummy asking Nana to bath her wasn't such a good idea the other night. However, we all survived and it won't be long until she is old enough to start saying 'Nana bath, Nana bath'!!!! 3) Always close your windows at night (especially when you have the lights on) BEFORE the crickets start singing and dancing... otherwise you get a bedroom full of crickets, uurrrggghhhh!!!! 4) Baby can sleep through almost anything - even when her Dad spends the morning sneezing (loudly), drops things, and generally makes a lot of noise first thing! 5) When the mornings get slightly darker and cooler, I get an extra hours grace... maybe summer coming to an end isn't all bad! 6) When Button wakes herself up with coughing durin

Thursday 17th February 2011 I am running a little behind here... Anniversary Weekend feels like a long-lost memory, somewhere in the dark recesses of my mind; but thankfully I have MANY photos to jog my Mummy-Brain! We chose to travel down to my parents on Saturday morning to avoid the worst of the traffic, especially the Parachute Festival traffic (if you've never heard of it - check out the link: Parachute Music Festival ...) crazy people these Christians ;-)! I so remember being young enough to enjoy those kinds of weekends, , I digress though! So we headed off down south about the time we would have put her down for her first sleep on Saturday (plus another hour *ooops*), and hoped like mad that this time she'd fall asleep quickly and easily... hhhmmm, sometimes I must have memory-lapses and think that I have someone else's kid! Well - we did get 45 minutes out of her, which is a very GOOD car-sleep from her; but it wasn't easy listening to her grizzle herself t
